Gartner published guide for executives as they re-open workplaces. Some recommendations include:
- Revise Workplace Policies – Including employee conduct, business travel, information technology, offsite work, and workplace safety, published in different formats for awareness and retention
- Develop Re-Exit Strategy – Monitor situation, policies and indicators, and decide what must be done to implement re-exit strategy in case of increased cases, non-compliance and negligence
- Segment and Stagger Workforce – Group employees according to type of work and stagger schedules, potentially starting with small group in phased approach to identify and address issues early
- Conduct Health Screening – Implement thermal and temperature scans for employees, conduct questionnaires or ask for certifications regarding travel history, exposure to high-risk individuals and other documentations
- Expand Remote and Flexible Schedules – Provide employees with collaboration tools for working across locations, and allow for flexible schedules and ways of working
- Apply Social Distancing – Calculate capacity limits of facilities, use physical signs to separate workers, schedule use of conference rooms, and install beacons that alert people when they breach below six-feet of social distance
